Many people spend their lives trying to be successful so that they can be happy. It doesn’t matter if a person is rich or poor, happiness is available to everyone. How many times have you read about someone who has achieve success in politics, entertainment, sports, or business and yet they still can’t see to find happiness?  One can acquire wealth and still not be able to find happiness.
The key to happiness comes from within. Below are some basic life changes that you can make to create a healthy and happy life:
  • Clean the Slate – Approach each day as a new beginning. Often we carry issues from the past over into our new day. Repeatedly doing so can create an experience where the causes of unhappiness can last and linger for weeks, months or years. Learn to let go, free yourself, forgive yourself and start fresh as often as you need.
  • GratitudeIf you want to be happy today, you must be grateful for what you have right now. It’s that simple. You can’t be happy if you are not satisfied. This doesn’t mean you can’t be striving for more, but you must appreciate and relish the gifts you currently have.
  • Variety - As humans we have a great need for security, which translates into routine, predictability, safety, reliability, and comfort. We also need variety which translates into thing being different, random, surprising, new, unpredictable, exciting, scary, and more. Spice up your life. Make a list of things that you enjoy and then think of different ways to have fun experiencing variety.
  • Good People – Surround yourself with people who support your goals, dreams and aspirations. It is extremely difficult to be happy when most of the people in your life are constantly negative. The key is to recognize and focus on the good people in your life. Also, allow new people in that enhance your experience.
  • Career/Work – Find your passion. Make what you enjoy the way you make a living or find the good aspects of your work and make that your primary focus.
  • Healthy Lifestyle – Laugh often, it releases stress and it has some many other wonderful benefits. Eat right, find time to exercise (walking, dancing, etc.), and have fun. Life was meant to be enjoyed.
